Rep. John Bennett Issues Statement on Signing of Ten Commandments Legislation
State Rep. John Bennett today issued a statement on the ceremonial signing by Gov. Mary Fallin of House Bill 2177, which will allow the display of the Ten Commandments in state buildings, public schools or on other public property alongside other historically significant founding documents such as the U.S. or Oklahoma Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the Magna Carta or others. Bennett authored the bill. The governor signed the bill in May but recently held a ceremonial bill signing to allow Bennett and the bill’s co-authors a chance to take part in the event.  Read more...
