OKLAHOMA CITY – State Rep. Kevin West, R-Moore, today congratulated Dove Science Academy High School in Oklahoma City for being ranked the No. 1 high school for math and reading performance in the entire nation by U.S. News & World Report.
The publication this year evaluated over 17,700 public high schools across the nation. Rankings are based on state-required tests, graduation and how well students are prepared for college.
"I wish to congratulate the students, parents, teachers and administrators at Dove for this outstanding accolade," West said. "The excellence of the instruction offered combined with the dedication and hard work of the students is inspiring and a thrilling accomplishment for this Oklahoma public charter school."
Dove Public Charter Schools has seven campuses in Oklahoma, one in Rep. West’s district. He said he had the pleasure of speaking to an Advanced Placement Government and Politics class at that school earlier this year.
"The students were engaged and sharp in their questions," West said. "Again, I’m so happy for this high school to have achieved this superior ranking."
